Music of Spirit & Hope

In addition to Annette's regular gig, she has developed special programs for the communities of spiritual endeavor. Her songs of optimism and uplift complement the message of faith and humanity. She has delivered her music to congregations through the United States and Europe.

Please contact her to arrange a special moment for your community.

A Black American In Paris

For a nearly twenty years, Annette performed in the great jazz clubs of Paris and Europe. And she played with the greats: Archie Shepp, Clark Terry, Stanley Turrentine, Claude Bolling Big Band, Horace Parlan, and Mark Thompson. Her journeys took her to the same stages (and backstages) of the legends of jazz: Nina Simone, Chet Baker, Count Basie Band, Betty Carter, Johnny Griffin, Major Holly, Memphis Slim, Dorthy Donnegan, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Rodney Jones - and many more. From Kennedy Center to Chez Maxim's, Annette Lowman made a life in music.

But beyond the music and performances, Annette tells the tale of a black woman from Denver, who did not quite fit in anywhere. She tells, through story and song, how Paris gave her a new life and acceptance.

You can experience Annette's story at any of her shows, but she is putting together a bigger show, set to launch in late 2017. Stay tuned for details.
